Beef heart is one of the most nutritious organ meats available — rich in CoQ10 (coenzyme Q10), which supports heart function and energy production at a cellular level. For senior dogs, CoQ10 is particularly valuable as natural levels decline with age. Combined with iron-rich spinach and antioxidant-packed vegetables, this vitality meal is designed to help aging dogs maintain energy, heart health, and overall zest for life.

Nutrition Notes
Beef heart is the richest natural source of CoQ10 — an enzyme critical for cellular energy production and heart muscle function. It's also high in iron, zinc, selenium, and B vitamins. As dogs age, CoQ10 levels naturally decline, making dietary sources increasingly important. Beetroot provides nitrates that support blood flow and cardiovascular health. Spinach adds iron and folate. This is an excellent heart-health focused meal.
Tips
- Beef heart is a muscle meat (not technically an organ) and can be used more liberally than liver.
- Ask your butcher for beef heart — it's usually very affordable.
- Dice heart small for senior dogs to make it easier to chew.
- Beetroot supports cardiovascular health through natural nitrates that improve blood flow.
- This meal supports both heart health and overall cellular energy — your senior dog may seem more energetic.
