Puppy Power Chicken & Rice

Puppy Power Chicken & Rice

Growing puppies need extra protein, calcium, and calories to support their rapid development. This simple chicken and rice meal is designed specifically for puppies aged 8 weeks and older, with easily digestible ingredients that are gentle on developing tummies. The cottage cheese adds calcium for strong bones and teeth, while the chicken provides the high-quality protein puppies need to build muscle and support healthy growth.

Nutrition Notes

Puppies need approximately twice the calories per kilogram of body weight compared to adult dogs. This recipe provides high-quality protein from chicken and eggs for muscle development, calcium from cottage cheese for bone growth, and easily digestible carbohydrates from white rice for energy. Fish oil supports brain and eye development.

Tips

  • Cut everything very small or mince it — puppies have small mouths and developing teeth.
  • Feed puppies 3–4 smaller meals per day rather than 1–2 large meals.
  • Introduce new foods one at a time to identify any sensitivities.
  • Always consult your vet about appropriate portion sizes for your puppy's breed and age.
  • This recipe supplements — not replaces — a complete puppy food. Discuss with your vet.
