Puppy Lamb & Veggie First Foods

Puppy Lamb & Veggie First Foods

Introducing your puppy to lamb early helps broaden their protein base and reduces the chance of developing protein-specific allergies later in life. This gentle lamb and veggie recipe is soft enough for young puppies while being nutritionally complete enough for growing older pups. The variety of vegetables introduces different flavours and nutrients that will help your puppy become a well-rounded, adventurous eater.

Nutrition Notes

Lamb is an excellent protein source rich in iron, zinc, and B vitamins. Introducing varied proteins during puppyhood can help prevent food sensitivities from developing. The combination of vegetables provides a spectrum of vitamins and minerals for immune system development. Olive oil adds healthy monounsaturated fats.

Tips

  • Use lean lamb mince and drain excess fat — puppy tummies are sensitive to high-fat foods.
  • Introducing different proteins early helps prevent allergies developing later.
  • Grate vegetables very finely for young puppies, chop slightly larger for older pups.
  • Vary the proteins weekly — chicken one week, beef the next, lamb the next.
