Calcium is absolutely critical during a puppy's first year — it builds strong bones, healthy teeth, and supports proper skeletal development. This calcium-rich recipe combines chicken with eggs (including the shell!) and cottage cheese for a triple calcium hit. The crushed eggshell is a natural, bioavailable source of calcium that's been used by breeders for generations. Simple, effective, and puppies lick the bowl clean.

Nutrition Notes
This recipe provides calcium from three sources: eggshells (pure calcium carbonate), cottage cheese, and broccoli. Puppies need adequate calcium for bone mineralisation, but not too much — excess calcium can cause skeletal problems in large breed puppies. One-half teaspoon of eggshell powder provides approximately 1,000mg of calcium. Consult your vet about appropriate calcium levels for your puppy's breed.
Tips
- Grind eggshells to a very fine powder — gritty pieces can be off-putting.
- Large breed puppies should NOT have excess calcium — consult your vet about amounts.
- Wash eggshells thoroughly before grinding.
- Cottage cheese is an excellent calcium source that most puppies love.
- Store extra eggshell powder in a sealed jar — it lasts for weeks.
