Vitamin A is essential for skin cell production and renewal — without adequate vitamin A, skin becomes dry, rough, and prone to infections. This liver and carrot meal provides a powerful dose of vitamin A from two complementary sources: preformed vitamin A (retinol) from liver and provitamin A (beta-carotene) from carrots and sweet potato. Together, they support rapid skin cell turnover and renewal, helping damaged skin heal faster and look healthier.

Nutrition Notes
Vitamin A (retinol) from liver is essential for skin cell differentiation and renewal — it literally controls how quickly new skin cells are produced and old ones are shed. Carrots and sweet potato provide beta-carotene, which the body converts to vitamin A as needed. This dual-source approach provides both immediate retinol and a safe reservoir of beta-carotene. Fish oil's omega-3s support the new skin cells' membrane integrity.
Tips
- Liver should be a supplemental ingredient, not the main protein — it's very rich in vitamin A.
- Too much vitamin A from liver can cause toxicity — keep liver to no more than 5–10% of the overall diet.
- Beta-carotene from carrots is safe in any amount — the body only converts what it needs.
- This recipe supports not just skin but also eye health and immune function.
- Feed 2–3 times per week as part of a rotation — not daily due to the liver content.
