If your dog is prone to nausea — whether from car sickness, medication side effects, or general stomach upset — ginger is a proven natural remedy. This gentle chicken meal incorporates ginger alongside other stomach-soothing ingredients to calm nausea and encourage eating. The bland base is easy on queasy stomachs, while the ginger works on the nausea pathways in the brain to reduce that sick feeling.

Nutrition Notes
Ginger contains gingerols and shogaols — compounds that act on serotonin receptors in the gut and brain to reduce nausea. Research has confirmed ginger's anti-nausea effects in both humans and animals. The bland chicken and rice base provides easily digestible nutrition without further irritating the stomach. Bone broth is soothing and provides hydration plus electrolytes. Honey provides quick energy for dogs that may not have been eating well.
Tips
- Start with a very small amount of ginger — too much can irritate the stomach.
- For car sickness, feed this meal 2–3 hours before travel, not immediately before.
- Small, frequent meals are better for nauseous dogs than large portions.
- If nausea is chronic or severe, consult your vet — it could indicate an underlying condition.
- Ginger tea (ginger steeped in warm water, cooled) can also be offered as a drink for nauseous dogs.
