Ingredients

  • 400g beef mince (lean)

  • 1/2 cup cottage cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  2. Add the beef mince and cook for 5–6 minutes until browned, breaking it apart.
  3. Push the beef to one side of the pan. Crack the eggs into the other side and scramble them gently.
  4. Add the chopped spinach and grated carrots. Stir everything together and cook for 2–3 minutes until the spinach is wilted.

  6. Stir in the cottage cheese once the mixture has cooled a bit.
  7. Serve at room temperature or portion for later meals.

Storage

Refrigerate in airtight containers for up to 3 days. Best made fresh or within a few days due to the eggs. Can be frozen for up to 1 month.

Nutrition Notes

Beef and eggs together provide a complete amino acid profile with highly bioavailable protein. Eggs also supply vitamins A, B12, riboflavin, and selenium. Cottage cheese adds calcium and additional protein. Spinach provides iron and folate. This is an excellent high-protein meal for active or working dogs.

Tips

  • Eggs can be served with the shell crushed and mixed in for extra calcium — just make sure the shell is finely ground.
  • Cottage cheese can be swapped for plain yoghurt if your dog prefers it.
  • This is a great meal for dogs that need to gain weight or build muscle.
  • Keep the scramble moist — dogs generally prefer it slightly wet rather than dry.
