Inspired by the classic cabbage soup diet (but much tastier and more nutritious), this stew uses cabbage as a low-calorie, high-fibre base with lean beef for protein. Cabbage is often overlooked for dogs, but it's actually a wonderful vegetable β packed with vitamins K and C, and it adds serious bulk to meals without adding many calories. This is a filling, satisfying stew for dogs who always seem hungry.

π Nutrition Notes
Cabbage is extremely low in calories (25 per 100g) while being high in fibre and water content. This combination means dogs can eat a larger portion while consuming fewer calories. The fibre also promotes healthy digestion and can help regulate blood sugar.
π‘ Tips
- Introduce cabbage gradually as it can cause gas in some dogs
- Use the leanest mince you can find β look for 95% lean or higher
- The stew format makes it easy to add extra vegetables
- Good for dogs who inhale their food β the volume slows them down
